Raised by an Artist, Teacher, and creative sister I have to say I would not be doing what I am doing now without the encouragement of my family and friends. They have all been supportive of my creative doings. I have been drawing as far back as I can remember. Some of the things I have done are: Mural painting, sketching, pastels, painting on canvas in all media, collage, beadwork, mosaics, building fairy houses, gardening, landscaping, ornamental garden displays, bonsai maintenance and care, crocheting elf hats and scarves, tattooing, mask making, metal, clay, mixed media sculpture and more. When I was 10 years old I started to become fascinated with water and fountains. I have imagined a world that I cannot explain to anyone. Many years later on one special day I walked into the most beautiful store. It was filled with sculpture and fountains. I was in heaven. Meanwhile I had been looking to work in a garden store, but none had openings at the time. A friend of mine told me there was someone who was about to leave and they needed a replacement. The day I walked into that store, which is named Aslan's Garden, I knew I did not want to leave. I applied for the job, was hired, and started 2 days later. I began my venture into the world of metal sculpture and gardening. I have been creating these unusual pieces of art for a while now, and they are one-of-a-kind. Aslan's Garden is a story worth knowing, filled with years of wonderful original artwork and artists that have worked on-site in the shop. The owner, Michael Largent, is a talented artist and has been creating pieces for the shop for over 40 years. To get more insight, please visit the shop's site, www.aslansgarden.com. If you are interested in being on the shop's mailing list, send me your address and I will put you on the list, muddpup@sbcglobal.net.
Some may call me a dreamer. I do dream, but I am a maker. I remember my father telling me when I was a little girl, "Sometimes you just have to work with what you have." I have always managed to make something out of whatever material I have. I have been inspired by the beauty around me. Nature is one of my biggest inspirations.
